Dear City Council members, We live on Gilbert Ave in The Willows neighborhood and I am writing to express concern over the proposed traffic changes that are outlined in the following agenda: www.menlopark.org/AgendaCenter > City Council agenda 12/5/2017, agenda item H1, Staff Report 17-303-CC I fully see, understand and support the need for an immediate change to the horrible traffic situation, however I am very concerned this proposal will only reroute more traffic to already congested Gilbert Ave. Points for you to consider: 1. Gilbert is already one of the most heavily trafficked road in the neighborhood and we are already concerned with the speed and volume of cars. 2. Gilbert is a large part of the main travel route for many elementary school children who bike to the the two Laurel Campuses. Adding in more cars will make the situation extremely unsafe. We agree that something needs to done quickly, but please look for a solution to this issue that works for all of us in the entire neighborhood rather than just shifting it from one (or three) streets to another.
