Civic Center Option
I would be willing to sign a referendum if you consider going through with the downtown parking lot option.
I attended City Council meeting where a San Jose contractor of affordable housing delineated more optimum sites for housing and parking on Civic Center grounds.
Council and City planners seemed more interested in pursuing Downtown parking lots
1. Because you already determined you wouldn’t do civic center repurposing
2. You would have to resubmit to State of Ca
My impression after that meeting:
“Entrenchment” an “In-House” group think at the detriment of a viable commercial downtown with 2-3 years of massive disruption to streets to build foundation infrastructure for housing and then parking structure ( for which there are no state funds) at huge cost- just seems folly to me.
