Dear Mayor Combs and City Council Members,
I am writing regarding Agenda Item K-1, to express my enthusiastic support for the Parkline proposal for 800 new homes with 251 of them being affordable, as well as some units for special housing needs.

Menlo Park is in desperate need of additional housing, and affordable housing in particular. This proposal seems like a no-brainer to me. Its a win for the community when people who work in Menlo Park can afford to live here -- this helps reduce traffic and commute times, encourages investment and engagement in our community, and contributes to a thriving community and downtown. Our quiet and sleepy downtown stands to benefit exponentially by bringing people to live within walking distance, which contributes to local businesses and a more vibrant community for us all.

I know the city council is committed to increasing housing -- especially affordable housing -- in Menlo Park, and to spreading out the affordable housing across districts and close to downtown, with the understanding that this contributes to a more equitable and thriving community. I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity that is a win-win across the board and say yes to the Parkline proposal.

Thank you,
Sarah Zollweg
