Nobody has as yet, been given any response by the Burgess Pool manager as to the future availability of the pool for seniors who depend on the water exercise classes that for years were held MWF 9-10 and 10-11 in the warm pool. Part of the lease with Tim Sheeper was that the pool be available to everyone in the community, regardless of age or ability, and that the wellness classes were part of that agreement. Everyone I know of that were part of that group, has been fully vaccinated, which is more than can be said for many others who use the pool.
Also, when the locker rooms open something needs to be done about the women's showers. The only fully functioning one is that provided for the disabled, but is often taken by non disabled women. Hopefully the city will also install ADA compliant doors to the facility.
Tim Sheeper was always responsive, but this current manager is most definitely NOT. Many seniors would appreciate it if the council would address this problem and insist that the wellness programs be reinstituted asap.
