I live in Menlo Park and I SUPPORT creating affordable housing on city-owned land in Menlo Park.
I understand that the building proposals will be reviewed/presented at the MP city council meeting tonight. I also understand that a mandate for these plans was to replace MOST or ALL of the parking spots that would be removed. (Please consider multi-story or underground parking if needed.) This renders moot the "but where will customers park?" concern.
Menlo Park is BEHIND in creation of affordable housing. People who work at our local businesses should be able to live in town. The downtown project proposal will BEGIN to address the need for increased affordable housing in this crazy, expensive market.
