I was just made aware of the fact that Menlo Park is quietly trying to
remove the Quiet Zone project from the budget. I have been waiting for this
project to complete since it started, and I do believe that it was supposed
to be finished already this year. It is outrageous that this would be
considered without consulting your constituents. If you surveyed Menlo Park
you would find that a majority of us especially those of us who live close
to the tracks would like this Quiet Zone to move forward as planned.
Without reasoning and without disclosure to the general public that you are
considering removing this you are erroding the city residentss trust in
its leadership. There is no reason for this to not proceed as planned and
it would come aa a great benefit to the people of Menlo Park.
I will be passing this on to many and I will be at this meeting. I am very
disappointed.
