Dear Council Members--
I am a resident of Menlo Park-- in the Park Forest Home Owners Assn 3 (PF HOA 3)-- near Menlo College and Encinal Ave. My townhouse is on a cul de sac adjacent to the railroad tracks-- and has been impacted greatly by noise from horns of passing trains for many years
I just learned that the City Council plans to eliminate the Quiet Zone from its budget planning. PLEASE DO NOT ELIMINATE QUIET ZONE designations and funding.
We have been advocating for a Quiet Zone for years, and the engineering designs are nearly complete. Now is NOT the time to eliminate funding for this important neighborhood action. Thousands of people want the train horns to stop-- or be minimized in effective ways.
I urge you to vote in support of neighborhood activities and interests-- rather than encouraging commuter train noises and disruptions. Its bad enough that we all face high housing costs and taxes in this area-- please help us to ensure the continued vibrant neighborhoods and communities in our city.
