Specifically, I request that you repeal or modify Section 5.C of Resolution NO. 6418 from 2018.

When Menlo Park first districted its council seats in 2018, you solicited open self-nominations for the committee that would draw the new lines.
Unfortunately, the criteria for that committee were unfairly stringent: it required that applicants had been residents of the city for 5+ years. At the time, I had lived in unincorporated Menlo Park for 3 years and within city limits for 3 years. Despite petitioning the council, I was ineligible for selection.
I hope that in this round of redistricting, we remember how important the voices are of younger and less established members of the community. Please eliminate or set lower restrictions on who could participate in such a committee.
