Council Members: PLEASE DO NOT close Alma at Ravenswood! I live in the Willows — and being able to come north up El Camino, turn right in the right-hand-lane-only onto Alma makes all the difference in the world to me! I can’t tell you how many times I have been so thankful to be on Alma — after El Camino’s traffic. I remember the “experiment” with not letting cars turn right on Alma from Ravenswood. There was so much congestion at the RR tracks and the pedestrian crosswalk by the library. I was so relieved when the experiment was over. Please do NOT bring it back in any form. Closing Alma at Ravenswood would cause a pile-up of cars, a mini-grid lock situation right over the RR tracks — that would back up onto El Camino. We need to siphon off as much traffic as possible onto Alma before Ravenswood narrows going up to Laurel. Closing Alma means all that traffic backs up.
