Natural gas ban in Menlo Park

As a resident of Menlo Park, I disagree with banning natural gas usage for heating in MP. It is clean and, when augmented with solar energy, provides a good balance for new homes. We cannot remove every natural gas usage because it is a clean and efficient energy source for residents and based on the number of people actually living here the impact would be minimal when the cost of alternative sources are considered.
We can use that extra cost for improving the energy efficiency of other buildings where the impact would be significant, i.e., use of double pane and better insulation that would bring down the cost of cooling/heating.
I would like to keep natural gas an option for heating for new construction.
