Hello,
Earlier this summer I sent you an email singing the praises of Burgess Pool. Today I received a flyer from the city of Menlo Park advertising Belle Haven Pool. Just yesterday I saw that after August 18th Burgess will be closed for a portion of the afternoon due to “budgetary constraints”, and we are encouraged to go to Bell Haven instead. I strongly disagree with the city’s promotion of Belle Haven and the limiting of Burgess hours They each serve their respective communities. Why drive to Belle Haven when Burgess is 1 mile from my house? These are NEIGHBORHOOD pools. If I wanted to drive a distance to an out of neighborhood pool I would rejoin The Bayclub. I think the political fighting between Burgess and Belle Haven has gone too far. Please, charge us a higher fee if finances are the real reason for limiting Burgess hours, and please stop spending money to promote Belle Haven. Please.
Thank you,
Elizabeth Rabinovitsj
