Dear MP City Council, We are new resident of Menlo Park and love living in lush and serene Sharon Heights neighborhood. I am very concerned though about the utter neglect of their property by my neighbors at 1040 Lassen Drive. Their lifestyle severely and negatively impacts our entire neighborhood. The decades long neglected pool is green, smelly and full of larva and mosquitos. Numerous neighbor around 1040 are effected and have complained to the county several years in a row. Both my son and I have numerous mosquito bites coming from 1040 Lassen Drive. The weeds in their back yard are dense, thick and have turned into thicket. This overgrowth in the city easement area at the rear of 1040 Lassen property is clogging drainage down the canal and into the city inlet that suppose to enter the underground city storm water drain pipes. This causes hill erosion down to Continental Drive and the neighbor’s yard directly below 1040 Lassen. The numerous dead trees and shrubs on the property are a fire hazard. Hugo Torre, Clarence Li and Eleonor Hillario have seen everything firsthand. I am hoping for swift action by the city. It is dangerous to live next to people hoarding rusted matter, decaying automobiles, boats and dead trees, etc. Please provide any available city services to help out the owners of 1040 Lassen Drive make their property safe for them and the neighbors. Please let me know if the underground drainage pipes will be cleared this coming week as planned and if you need to access my property to access the inlet. Our address is 1045 Continental Dr, Menlo Park, CA 94025. Thank you all so much!, Rafael and Karen Ramirez 650-854-9272 Home 650-714-6067 Cell On Tue, Jun 18, 2019 at 4:40 PM Li, Clarence Eleonor I’ve received a phone call from the resident at 145 Continental Dr about more than normal water flowing into their property during the past wet season. The attached form summary was created for tracking purposes. Hugo and I visited 1030 Lassen Dr 2 weeks ago and saw the Menlo Park owned inlet located in the south east corner of the 1040 Lassen Dr property. We discussed scheduling an inspection at the property to verify if the current condition requires any action. There is a 10’ Public Utility Easement running along the backside of that property. The property with the overgrown shrubbery and dead trees in the back yard that are blocking storm water drain pathways and inlets, thus potentially causing a downhill slide and the hilltop erosion by draining the entire neighborhood storm water directly downward to 145 Continental Drive ... is 1040 Lassen Drive, not 1030 Lassen Drive (my address). >> >> >> >> Best, >> >> Polina >> >> 650-799-6100 >> >> >> On Jun 18, 2019, at 1:08 PM, Hilario, Eleonor V >> >> Hugo/Clarence/Kim: >> >> I received a call from 1030 Lassen Dr. resident (copied on this email) regarding your inspections at above property address. Can you please forward me a copy of your reports. My understanding is that the stormwater drain inlet may be clogged from overgrowth on the rear of property. Deborah and I were there yesterday to check on the dead tree and overgrown bushes only. >> >> Thanks, >> >> Eleonor >> >> >> >> Eleonor V.
