Dear Council Members, I am encouraged to read that you've had a consultant looking at our permitting processes, and clearly there are major deficiencies in our zoning code and processes. I would like to see the City take the next steps to draft a revised zoning code -- OR hire this consultant to do so -- and have staff take the other steps the consultant outlined. Seems this is all the more important given the new law to go into effect in a couple of years, highlighted in Tuesday's Daily Post, that mandates things like a maximum number of review meetings a city can have for development projects (in order to speed up housing projects).
