Dear City Council - I was happy to see that the Complete Streets Commission unanimously approved the Willows NTMP project at their meeting on 2/12 and wanted to voice my support before your meeting on Tuesday 2/10. I've been working on this project since March 2016 -- and am hoping to wrap it up by exactly 4 years! The NTMP process is ridiculous and I'd be happy to remain a contact if you choose to improve the process. No one else should have to wait 4 years to improve neighborhood safety on their streets. The process has a lot of room for improvement. The final survey results are in and ... we've met the criteria of 51% in favor of the permanent speed humps, yield sign, and closure of Clover Lane. We actually had 57% of the residents' approval. When you take a closer look, we had 99 "yes" votes and only 11 "no" votes out of 174 houses. So, out of the people who turned in their surveys, 90% of the residents approve of the plan. This effort has proved to reduce speeds and (with the help of the "no turn" signs), reduce volume of cut through traffic. Hope this project passes for permanent installation (per the votes) and thank you in advance for supporting safer and quieter streets! Susu Ribaudo Received on Sun Mar 01 2020 - 16:25:38 PST
