Dear Council Members,
As a Menlo Park resident, I am committed to reasonable policies for mitigating climate change. But I also believe that forced electrification for homes (as planned by the commission) will raise many unanticipated problems that could detract from our common goals for a better environment.
I strongly encourage you and your staff to seek academic guidance from local university scholars such as Frank Wolak or Severin Borenstein. An objective, third-party perspective would help the commission understand the merits and limitations of any planned policies.
