Dear City Council:
I am writing to support the Junior League of Palo Alto- Mid-Peninsula lease renewal. I am have been a member for 15 years, and we are so grateful to have use of the Gatehouse to be able to do our community work and for our training of our community leaders. During my league career, I have had the pleasure work at the Menlo Park Pancake Breakfast, learn about fundraising working our retail shop (The Shop), volunteer with There with Care, Hopes Corner, Art in Action, the Redwood City Library, the Princess Project, My New Red Shoes, and many other meaningful organizations.
Not only has the Junior League connected me with direct service opportunities, but I have gained valuable leadership skills and training that has enabled me to bring value additional value to the organizations that I work with. I entered looking somewhere to volunteer and have emerged with non-profit board skills, leadership skills, fundraising skills, and event planning that I am very grateful for, and enrich my life as well as the organizations that I work in.
Lastly, I am very thankful for the venue to connect with other like-minded women. The Junior League is an organization for all women, and I think in todays society, it is important to have a safe space to learn and grown. I am so thankful for the use of the gatehouse, and hope that we will continue to be able to use it for many years to come.
Thanks,
Michelle
