I hope this does NOT get approved. Traffic in that area is horrendous when PBS school starts and stops. This is especially true since the road by the parking lot is on a hillside and blind corner which presents safety issues. Traffic is also not properly controlled by the traffic lights at Alameda. I believe that many of the kids at PBS are from Atherton, not MP, and it might be wiser for PBS to relocate to Atherton. Over the years there have been many bonds issued for capital improvements at La Entrada that we pay on our property tax statements. It would seem to make more financial sense for La Entrada to take over PBS facilities. La Entrada uses school buses which PBS does not, which helps the traffic problems, plus many of these kids that live nearby walk or bike to school. Also there has been much press coverage of completely profligate expenditures by some of the La Entrada Board: money that could have been better spent fixing the drainage issues in the sports field that have existed for decades. I do not live in the immediate area but object to the traffic and safety problems that already exist with the influx of cars going to and from PBS. Please do not grant this expansion proposal.
