Mayor, Councilmembers, and Staff,
Im writing to support action to finalize the design of the Middle Avenue
Pedestrian and Bicycle Rail Crossing project. We need to have this project
ready-to-go while continuing to seek additional funding to bring the
project to completion.
I live on Middle Ave, and regularly use the Ravenswood + El Camino + rail
crossing. Its dangerous and I would prefer not to risk my life any time I
need to cross into that part of town. Or have other cyclists risk their
lives. This is all made worse by the lack of proper bike lanes on El Camino
in Menlo Park (Palo Altos recent additions here show what it could be
like). I strongly urge swift and bold action to advance the effort and
provide a safe corridor to better connect our city.
