I am writing to express my concern about the proposed tower at the former site of Sunset Gardens, 80 Willow Road. I lived in Menlo Park 2003-2004 and have been a North Palo Alto resident since 2004. I strongly support building more housing and encouraging affordable housing. Like many local parents I hope that my young adult children might be able to move back to Palo Alto/Menlo Park area without having to be a billionaire. That being said, the proposed multi-tower mini-city is wildly out of scale for Menlo Park, and is grossly misaligned with our state-approved housing plan that City leaders worked diligently to pass. It is totally inappropriate for our communities and would have significant, detrimental impacts on Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Atherton, and East Palo Alto. I am concerned about the impact of traffic and parking. Please wait to approve this project until a completed Environmental Impact Report is completed.
