Dear Menlo Park C ity Council
My name is Stuart Dalton and I’ve been a Menlo Park resident since 1978 (
on Bay road) and have owned and lived at 156 East Creek Dr. since 1988.
I raised my kids here and love my city and the neighborhood. These
buildings at 80 Willow Rd. will be an ugly site visible from my backyard.
They will be able to be viewed from my bedroom windows and I will want my
blinds closed if they are built.
The worst impacts on my option are environmental. I’ve worked on
environmental controls in my profession in the area from 1976 to 2015. I
am on the Creek much like the Willow road property and I know how delicate
the banks are. I had had to deal with bank damage on our similar bank.
Severe Rapid discharge ( causing bank loss and tree falls) after high water
and bank loss. There was a lot of damage back in the 90s after the heavy
water flow including in my area a block upstream.
The traffic on willow inbound in the morning and outbound in the evenings
workdays is bad but this will be gridlock. I worked on air pollution
professionally from 1970 until retirement, including testimony in the US
Congress and CA energy comisdion and international bodies and worry this
will see us going backward in Menlo Park.
Please fight this proposal on my behalf.
