Dear City Councilmembers,
After heading in a recent City Council meeting about the challenges our fellow Menlo Park residents are experiencing with the noise and traffic from the long-awaited replacement of the sound wall and shielding trees, Im requesting your help get this project accelerated with the city staff and contractors.
The residents living near the Hwy 101/Willow interchange have had to endure sound and exhaust ever since the walls and trees were removed for construction in 2016 -- which have not been replaced.
Since the City already set aside specific funding to plant new trees by the interchange as the initial step to remedy this situation, please help start this project as soon as possible.
After these residents endured the loud onstruction sounds, noise and dirt -- especially during the COVID lockdowns with children having to attend school from home and adults having to work at home -- there was no escape or respite from the noise and pollution.
Thank you for your help to remedy this nearly seven-year problem quickly.
Warmly,
Sue Connelly
