Dear City Council Members,
I am very pleased to see the Flock Cameras are finally on the agenda. Being uncomfortably close to multiple gunshot incidents in Belle Haven over the past several years, I believe being able to quickly identify where and who is conducting criminal activities is crucial to reducing the violence in our neighborhoods.
I am also glad to see that the data collection policy related to the cameras protects the residents privacy while giving officers the information they need for conducting investigations into open cases.
Overall, I believe this will be a much-needed tool for the MPPD to solve (and hopefully deter) open cases of violent crime in our city!
