Dear Menlo Park City Council,
I just learned that the City plans to eliminate the Quiet Zone from its
budget planning. This is shocking and completely unacceptable. Its so
disappointing to find this out with so little notice. Menlo Park residents,
like myself, and businesses have been advocating for a Quiet Zone for
years. The engineering designs are now nearly complete. The last step is
funding. Thousands of people are asking for the train horns to stop — and
you have the budget surplus and other funding options to move this forward.
Personally Ive been impacted for years with poor sleep due to the
incessant horns. I beg you, please help thousands of residents have a
better quality of life in Menlo Park. Were counting on you to keep this
moving forward. Please dont let us down.
Respectfully,
Melissa Mills
