Hello,
I am writing as a former parent whose children went to Menlo Atherton COOP.
Words can not express the impact and connections that the COOP had on our families. My twins went there for 3 years and they still say it was one of the best times of their lives. The COOP brings together many different socioeconomic groups and makes everyone feel special and connected.
In addition, because parents are required to work and volunteer you make life long friends that are still some of my closest friends . The kids go off to separate elementary schools , but we all still see each other occasionally and the bond the kids and parents all still have doesn’t ever diminish. Teacher Kristy has built an amazing , inspiring and powerful rock for the entire community. Plus it has one of the best preschool playgrounds in all of Menlo Park. Not to mention the amazing Nealon park in front of the COOP which allows the kids to build on their friendships at the end of the coop day.
Please do whatever it takes to keep this wonderful community institution where it is today!
