Since City Council is collecting feedback on the bike lane pilot on Middle Ave I wanted to include them on this email exchange.
Every single day there are multiple cars (particularly at construction sites) parked in the bike lane. This forces cyclists out into the lane of traffic making the bike lane rather unsafe. As a fast cyclist Ive taken to just riding in the street so as not to have to pop in and out of the lane continuously. The bike lane is a great idea but it needs to be kept free of parked vehicles to truly be effective.

Hello,
Hope youre both doing well. Im a homeowner in Menlo Park (1790 Oak) and am writing to express a safety concern with bike lanes being blocked on Middle making them practically unusable.
Wanted to see if anything can be done to enforce the "no parking anytime" signs along the bike lanes on MIddle Ave. Chuck - Im including you since the sites under construction are particularly egregious with construction crews completely ignoring the signs. Not sure if theres anything you can do from a building department perspective. This is especially bad since theyre there during peak school commute hours in the morning thus forcing kids into the flow of what is a busy Middle Ave at that time.
Thanks,
Daniel Francisco
