Menlo Park City Council,
I thank you for all the work that you and the City have done, and continue
to do, to address the health and welfare of our community. I kindly ask you
to support staffs recommendation to pursue Option 3 (Expands prewiring; AC
to HP; Flex path). All three scenarios are needed to move the City closer
to achieving its goals and, in the process, these codes will create
healthier, safer, more efficient, more comfortable, and more
climate-friendly homes in a cost-effective manner. These efforts will
nicely parallel the great work that the City has done, and continues to do,
to decarbonize its own municipal operations.
I wanted to express a special thank you to staff for their excellent work,
given the challenging constraints they were up against, in capturing as
much of this opportunity as possible and going the extra mile to include
the Flex path scenario.
