When I, and some others, went to last weeks Strong for Life class at Burgess we found that all the senior programs at the Arrillaga Center had been discontinued and moved to Belle Haven. This is unacceptable.
I am happy that residents of Belle Haven have a wonderful facility to enjoy but it is not OK for the seniors in downtown to be deprived of the facilities at Burgess. It is a long distance to Belle Haven and even if there is a shuttle that is extremely inconvenient and time consuming. Plus it will involve parking at a sometimes crowded lot at Burgess. Also, there are several apparently homeless individuals that rely on the services at Burgess Arrillaga Center.
It also seems from the on line summer schedule that the Burgess instructional pool has been devoted to childrens athletic competitions and is not available from 3 p.m.onwards.
