Police COVID testing requirement

Today I was speaking with a Menlo Park police officer and he told me that there is no requirement for vaccination or testing by officers, nor are there requirements for them to wear quality masks.

Please fix this. If someone's home is burglarized and the police show up to investigate, the homeowner could be exposed to the virus, compounding their problems. If an officer does a traffic stop on someone, it is not safe for the driver to roll down their window if the police officer is not vaccinated and is not wearing an N95 or KN95 mask.

We look to our police to increase our safety, not to decrease it.

Vaccines are safe and effective. Quality N95 and KN95 masks are inexpensive, effective, and do not impair breathing. Our police officers should have no reasonable objection to wearing a single quality mask instead of a ineffective MPPD-logo single-layer cloth mask like the officer today was wearing.
