Adding bulb-outs and closing one westbound lane of Menlo Avenue will improve this intersection for pedestrians, but will make it much more dangerous for bicyclists. Narrowing the street will force bicyclists into the traffic lanes, instead of being able to ride along the curb.
The intersection of University and Menlo is complex because of the offset and it confuses drivers who are unfamiliar with it. Adding bulb-outs would make it even MORE confusing.
Please dont "fix" this intersection by making it more dangerous for bicyclists. Thank you.
