You are right to reconsider the contract for Tim Sheeper to continue to operate all Menlo Park aquatic programs.
As a regular user of Burgess Pool, I have found operations there to be exemplary but as a Belle Haven resident I know that the pool over here has always been treated like at best a poor relation and at worst an unwanted step-child. I want an aquatics operator that will provide all facilities with equal respect, staffing, hours, and user-appropriate programs. I regret that, based on much past experience, Tim Sheeper is not that operator.
If there turns out to be no alternative to contracting out pool operations, and no alternative operator who would be any better, the city had better create much stronger supervision for the contractor.
Justice is always an uphill struggle.
