335 Pierce is the only new housing in Belle Haven that I would like to see built, and that is solely because it is meant to be affordable for people at risk of displacement. I understand that one unit is reserved for a family that has already been displaced. I hope that the others will be made available first to current Belle Haven residents who are at risk of displacement, or who are about to age out of their parents’ homes and are unable to otherwise afford to stay in the neighborhood. It takes years to build up solid relationships between neighbors, and while I welcome new neighbors I don’t want to see any more existing relationships ruptured due to the miserable housing market.
